From Mechanic shop to Creative Studio Space
The kind wolves’ den is the art studio of Giulia and Irene, it’s the place where they dedicate themselves to artistic research. They share a passion for printmaking and visual arts, believing that traditional engraving techniques can coexist with experimental ones.
The lab is situated in the centre of Borgo Ticino (NO), where between the 20s and the 70s there was a mechanic shop, that belonged to Giulia’s great-grandfather. Despite the renovations, the overalls and the ink-stained hands of the two artists remind the previous activity of the laboratory.
Here, the old printing presses share the space with contemporary equipment, to support the desire to bring together traditional engraving methods with digital and experimental techniques and languages.
The reality of the studio is in constant transformation: courses, workshops and cultural activities are offered and aimed at everyone, becoming an opportunity for comparison as well as artistic and personal enrichment.
